ARTIST STATEMENT:

The halo is representative of the consecrated and divine in art, yet, there is no reference of its existence in Biblical or other religious texts. It is, simply, an abstracted form; an artistic convention.

"O" (halo) re-presents a collection of halos, sourced and isolated from the art of the Madonna. Each halo is meticulously, reconstructed on a sheer support with materials designed to coruscate ambient light.  The resulting structure establishes shadow while maintaining the properties of halo: as disk of floating light.

Perception of the re-established circular composition can then reflect the authenticity of authorship, resolve inherent myth and counsel truth through individual expression and distinct differences.
